Latest Updates from Our Project:

FULLY FUNDED + ALL 15 STRETCH GOALS UNLOCKED IN A DAY!
over 9 years ago – Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 08:35:24 AM

Hello grownups!

I can't thank you all enough for such a mind blowing start to the campaign!

The game will be printed and now with an EXTRA 15 CARDS from some of the best webcomic artists in the industry! (I guess one of them will be backer submitted but maybe they are also a leading webcomic artist?). More details will come about how to submit for the backer card!

The "Megan does a compliment" and "Jason does an insult" tier has been really popular! I just added 500 more yesterday. I bumped it up a Canadian dollar so the early adopters still get a deal and also to slow it down a bit since this turns into a logistics thing of how to actually write jokes on hundreds of cards.

I am currently PRETENDING EXTRA HARD TO BE GROWNUP so I can get more awesome guests attached to the project and I'm also going to add some stretch goals to improve the quality of the game. I'll space them out a bit more going forward (a bit more than intervals of $1500) because otherwise it might turn into a situation where too much is promised and I want to make sure I can deliver on what I say I'll do.

I will update the stretch goals later today. This campaign has just been a whirlwind since it started!

Thank you all again, now you just need to sit back, relax and enjoy the campaign!

New Stretch Goals! New York Comic Con! Backer Submitted Art!
over 9 years ago – Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 08:35:15 AM

How do you do fellow grownups?

I have added NEW STRETCH GOALS! It's a mix of new artists for bonus cards and upgrades to the physical game to make it as nice as possible!

Also I will be at New York Comic Con this weekend! Drop by and say hello if you're there. I'll be at a booth with Peter from Rock Paper Cynic

You can also look for a large PRETENDING TO GROWNUP banner on display!

Megan McKay (main artist for the game) was supposed to be there too but her schedule got hectic and she had to cancel at the last moment :( She's a great Twitter follow though so maybe give her a follow and some new friends might take the string out of not being able to go to New York.

Also if you'd like to submit an idea for the BACKER BONUS CARD and can show your art style with some examples, please email to [email protected] and I would be happy to take a look at those. Depending on the number of submissions, I may not be able to respond to everyone so if you are not chosen please know that it wasn't because your art was bad, it was because one idea / art combination just clicked the most.

You are all really awesome, thanks again for backing and making this an incredible campaign on only the second day!

Hello from New York Comic Con + 3 New Stretch Goals unlocked!!
over 9 years ago – Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 08:35:06 AM

Hi Grownups!

I'm just messaging from my tiny hotel room at New York Comic Con. I actually brought my desktop computer with me on this road trip so I could still do all kinds of work for the Kickstarter.

We've unlocked THREE of the EIGHT newly added stretch goals! This is insane! That's 18 total stretch goals unlocked in 3 1/2 days! So we now have Jane from Pigeon Gazette and Sam from Sam & Fuzzy doing bonus cards. Plus a FANCY GLOSS UPGRADE has been unlocked for the game box.

Funny story: A few people have asked for a gameplay video to understand the flow of the game. I just spent about 40 minutes putting one together in my hotel room but when I played  it back the noisy air conditioner made the audio sound like a unipegasaurus gargling mouthwash in a wind tunnel.

The plan now is to go into the convention center earlier tomorrow to film the video (before the wave of attendees arrive).

Also here is what our convention banner looks like:

I also made this sign to direct people to the Kickstarter!

The response both online and at this con has been amazing! We've come so far in a really short amount of time. Thank you all again for backing and I'll post again when I have some news!

Cheers,

Jason
